“Write Space” Policy
If you are an author, editor, agent, a publicist for an author, or are in some other way affiliated with the publishing industry and would like to participate in the recurring feature, “In Search of the Write Space,” please read the following guidelines and requirements.
Please note: “Write Space” features are currently booked up two months ahead, so please take this into account when deciding when to apply! I am happy to accept applications up to six months in advance of your ideal post date.
Who May Participate
At this time I am only accepting “Write Space” participants who are affiliated professionally with the publishing industry. This includes (but is not necessarily limited to) professional authors, literary agents, and editors. (Sorry, but I do not currently feature self-published authors.)
What is Required
“Write Space” is a different kind of interview, involving more pictures than words. Each post is comprised of information about the participant, and if it’s an author, their upcoming or most recent book, as well as a series of approximately five or six images. These images (which must be in .jpg format) usually showcase the participant’s workspace, bookshelves, desk, reading nook, etc.–anything to do with the participant’s publishing career. A SMALL caption (one to two sentences) will accompany each image.
Rights
I will only use images to which you have full creative rights. By sending me the image files, you give me permission to post them freely on my blog in association with your “Write Space” feature. You also grant me permission to post them on Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, and other social networks in order to promote your “Write Space” feature.
Giveaways
Giveaways are not required, but are strongly encouraged to help bring traffic to the post. Preference will be given to those participants able to provide giveaways. The participant will be responsible for providing the prize, as well as for mailing the prize upon receipt of the winner’s mailing information. The participant may choose whether their contest is international or US-only, or any other combination of countries. Contests typically last for two weeks, using the Rafflecopter form.
