SKYLARK Audiobook Extravaganza!
So maybe it’s not really an extravaganza, but I really like that word, and it’s my book, so I’m writing it anyway. You can’t tell me what to do!
Okay, maybe I’m a little excited here. But it’s for good reason, I promise! If you came here looking for In Search of the Write Space, the bad news is that there is no TWS post this week. The good news, though, is that I’m taking a break so that I can share some TOTALLY AWESOME NEWS: the SKYLARK audiobook is now available in the US from Recorded Books! EEEEE!
To celebrate and help spread the word, I’m going to do my OWN contest in which I give away one of these actual physical hard copy CD versions of the audiobook, signed by moi! How many people can claim they have a signed copy of an audiobook? Not many, that’s what I’m thinking.
I’ve been listening to the audiobook whenever I can–in my car, while exercising, etc. Hearing it read professionally is SO cool–the narrator, Angela Lin, has done a fantastic job bringing my words to life. The way she does Gloriette’s voice is so disturbing! I really think hearing SKYLARK read is as close as I can come to experiencing my book like a reader would, and like I didn’t write it myself.
Want to hear for yourself? Check out the sample!
The SKYLARK audiobook itself is available for purchase and download from Audible.com. If you’ve never been to that site, you’re in luck–when you sign up for an account (which costs nothing) you get to download one free book of your choice. You can choose to download SKYLARK if you want, or you can choose any of their other books–it’s up to you!
And for those who already own SKYLARK as an ebook from Amazon, you can actually get the audiobook at a steep discount and put it on your Kindle so that you can switch seamlessly back and forth between the e-book and the audiobook. It’s pretty sweet!

Hey, this is awesome! I’ve been meaning to sign up for Audible for a while, so this is a perfect opportunity. Cheers! 🙂
They definitely make it super easy to get audio books! And I love that they’re synced with my Kindle copies…makes it so easy to switch back and forth.
Yay! I love audiobooks and would love to hear the one for Skylark. Thanks for the giveaway 🙂
You’re welcome! Good luck!
I love audiobooks. Skylark would be a great listen 🙂
It’s certainly a lot of fun for me to hear it! I especially love her voices for Gloriette and Oren. You totally forget that it’s a girl reading Oren’s voice…
I’ve really been wanting to get into audio books–especially since I’ve got a 14 hour drive coming up, and a lot of travel in the future!
It’s actually the ONLY thing I miss about having a commute… I never have a reason to listen to audiobooks anymore! But a 14 hour drive is the perfect opportunity!
Thanks for hosting this great giveaway! I love to listen to books while I drive. I drive a lot for work, so it would be amazing to listen to Skylark on audiobook! I listened to the sample on audible and it sounds great!
You’re so welcome, Hannah! I used to listen to audiobooks all the time too, when I commuted. And thanks so much–I love the job that Angela Lin, the narrator, did with SKYLARK!
Oh this would be too cool to win! My commute to work is an hour one way, and I always love getting a pretty hardback. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
Boo for your long commute! Audiobooks are perfect for making the time pass quickly, though.
You know I’ve never actually listened to an audiobook before.
I don’t listen to them much anymore, which is a shame–I don’t commute so I don’t have those long hours in the car! It’s very different from the experience of reading, but no less gripping, in my opinion.
IVE NEVER LISTENED TO AN AUDIOBOOK BEFORE EITHER! HOPEFULLY ONE OF US WINS SO WE CAN EXPERIENCE IT SOON! THANKS FOR THE GIVEAWAY! (:
Yeah, fingers crossed! Keep in mind you can also get a free audiobook when you sign up for Audible, so you can try it whether you win or not. (And it’s ANY book… you can choose SKYLARK if you want, or something else if you’d prefer!)
Yay, I love audiobooks! They’re all I listen to while driving anymore. Skylark sounds like a great book, and I’d be very excited to win. Thanks for offering the giveaway!
