Podcast Interview about SKYLARK!
It’s been quite a week on my end of things. Amie and I got copyedits on THESE BROKEN STARS last week and just handed those in this morning, which means now I’m wandering around trying to remember what I’m supposed to be doing with myself. The answer is “back to work on SHADOWLARK,” but making that transition is always a little rough. My two series are so different in terms of style, story, focus–I love them both, but switching between the two makes my brain go ping! So the next few days will involve a lot of listening to my SHADOWLARK playlist (it’s all instrumental and therefore likely very boring for most of you unless you’re a soundtrack junkie like me) and going for long walks while staring off into space. Hey, some stereotypes about writers are stereotypes for a reason!
There’s no “Write Space” post this week, but there were two last week–so if you’re looking for awesome pictures and contests to enter, be sure to go check them out. While the contest to win Sarah’s book, THRONE OF GLASS, is over (congratulations, Vivien!) you can still enter to win a signed copy of WHAT’S LEFT OF ME by Kat Zhang, and a signed ARC of QUANTUM COIN from E.C. Myers. They both have awesome, if completely different, kinds of work spaces–be sure to check them out!
And finally, I wanted to alert you guys to a new series of podcast interviews with science fiction and fantasy authors, both YA and adult: New Books Network’s new sff channel, “New Books in Science Fiction and Fantasy.” Why, you ask? Well, because it’s awesome for one thing–there’s nothing quite like hearing authors speak about their books in their own voices–but also because my own podcast has gone up! In it I chat with Daniel Nexon, a professor at Georgetown University, about SKYLARK and about YA fiction’s place within the grander scope of the science fiction and fantasy genre. If you’re curious to learn more about the world of SKYLARK, and you don’t want to wait until SHADOWLARK comes out next year, this is the podcast for you!
